With only a couple of short cold spells, islanders and residents were able to enjoy balmy days in the sun throughout most of January. As the seasons go through their cycles, powerful sunsets of winter made quite the spectacle, while the island rests and prepares for another season of friends and guests.

Salty Reflections of Hatteras Island
"Be like a flower and turn your face to the sun."
-Kahlil Gibran
Every day on Hatteras Island is a gift. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, there is no place we'd rather be and we are so humbled that we, the Midgett Realty family and team, are able to call this place home.
While Spring began to rear her big, BEAUTIFUL head, March led us from the cooler days of winter into the warm sunny days of Spring 2015. Check out the slideshow for some of the gorgeous views March had to offer.
The chilly air is here, but the sun still rises and sets over Hatteras Island, painting January skies into a portrait not to be forgotten.

The first day of winter has past, the holiday season has come and gone and Hatteras Island rang in the New Year with a joyful heart. While the winds of wintery tend to be a little blustery from time to time, December seemed to be the exception, with days of sunshine and a beautiful weather.
As another year passes by, the seven villages of Hatteras Island came together on Saturday with a treasure trove of things to be thankful for.
March on Hatteras Island was welcomed by locals with open arms as it brought the first of Spring to an already mild--albeit oddly snowy at times--winter. Spring is generally more consistent with it's warmer days and sunny skies, but it also represents the blooming of yet another season on Hatteras Island.
February on Hatteras Island, while peaceful and serene, was a bit of a weather roller coaster as temperatures danced from the 20's to the 70's and everywhere in between. Due to that 50 degree variance, some days were spent frolicking on the beach in flip flops, while others were spent bundled in Uggs and layers. Lots.of.layers.
Not everyone is able to live on the coast all year round, so why not bring that calm, relaxing feeling of the beach into your home? While bead board and architectural elements aren't always attainable, that's not to say the beachy feel can't be achieved. Why not start with a fresh coat of paint in a soft palette? Aquas, airy greens and blues will certainly do the trick, but don't hesitate to start with calming neutrals and layer in the color with other elements if needed.
