New construction and new to Midgett Realty in 2025 is A1712 Mermaid Lookout!

Quietly nestled in the upscale Kinnakeet Shores neighborhood, Mermaid Lookout is a dreamy coastal escape where you will lose yourself in salty scenery and mesmerizing water views. This charming hideaway is artfully designed to make you feel as if you’re in a mermaid’s world, offering the perfect blend of luxury and convenience.

A dual-car covered carport will allow you to pull up directly to the front door featuring elegant etched glass with scenes from the deep blue that include a captivating mermaid and King Neptune himself. Enter without obstacle for easy unloading with an elevator that reaches all levels just around the corner.

The first level game room features floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the pool deck and encase an octagonal game table for poker night with a view. A pool table and 9’ shuffleboard table offer even more opportunity for a little friendly competition among friends while catching the game on the large screen Smart TV or jamming to music on the built-in Bluetooth speaker with volume control. Grab your cocktails and gametime snacks from the nearby wet bar with refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of cabinet storage so no one has to go too far to snag a bite. A half bath is just around the corner to easily service the game room and pool area.

Each of the six bedrooms is thoughtfully outfitted in soothing décor and cozy furnishings that evoke calm and comfort for a restful night’s sleep. All en suites, a room with two bunk sets and five king bedrooms each boast unique tilework in their respective private baths and provide their own Smart TV for the ultimate in relaxation. A laundry room with custom cabinetry and granite tops allows for a convenient folding station on the second floor, centrally located for easy accessibility.

You’ll become quickly enchanted on the top level where the home’s unique architectural elements from hand-stained woodwork to wrought iron balusters are on full display, enhanced by high ceilings and wall-to-wall windows flooded with natural light. As the name implies, the most notable feature is likely the lookout deck in the living area offering views of both the Atlantic Ocean and nearby Pamlico Sound. From here, peek through the antique telescope for a closer look at all of Hatteras Island’s natural beauty, while the kids play below deck in their own little hideaway ready for adventure. Lavish furnishings allow everyone to kick back and relax after long days of excitement on the island. Combined with an 85” Smart TV with surround sound, everyone will be thrilled to gather for time spent together around a movie or your favorite show. Those who love to cook won’t hesitate to take advantage of the property’s state-of-the-art kitchen outfitted in beautiful custom cabinetry and hand-selected stone tops. Boasting high-end appliances such as a 48”, 8-burner, dual fuel range with two electric ovens, a restaurant-style hood with warming shelf, and an undercounter microwave, you’ll be equally excited by the easy clean-up provided by the oversized sink and dual dishwashers. Choose between the breakfast bar, the 14-person dining table, and the outside picnic table on the screened porch for a variety of options for enjoying your meals. Out on the sundeck, views of the neighborhood are the perfect backdrop for time spent outside.

Outside, the private pool is great for quick laps or lounging on the splash deck. Take a relaxing soak in the soothing hot tub perched just above the pool and enjoy tunes and cocktails at the custom tiki bar with granite tops. An outside shower is convenient for rinsing off before and after taking a dip or when you get back from long days at the beach. Outdoor amenities including a gas grill and fish cleaning station are also provided. Quiet neighborhood streets are ideal for long strolls or easy bike rides. When you’re ready to explore the bustling village of Avon further, eateries, shops, and attractions are all well within reach.
